It was the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2002, and South Africa were cruising towards an easy win. Herschelle Gibbs had just retired hurt after a brilliant 116.

South Africa chasing 262 to win, were 194 for one in 38.1 overs, when Yuvraj Singh got India back in the match.

Jonty Rhodes swept Harbhajan Singh and managed a top edge. The ball was in the air for a while and just when it seemed that it was landing on the ground safely, Yuvraj at short fine leg, leapt and caught it with his outstretched right hand. The catch was taken just inches above the ground, and what made it even more special was the fact that he took it diving at his wrong side.

A stunned Rhodes walked back, but Yuvraj’s efforts would have even made him proud. India went on to win the match by 10 runs, and later became the joint-winners of the Champions Trophy.
