Royal Challengers Bangalore upped the ante during the later overs of the game against Rajasthan Royal in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. It was Yuvraj Singh who played some wonderful lofted shots over the mid-wicket region to keep things going for Bangalore. With his feet wide apart, taking an off-stump guard and with an upright stance, he  went after Rajasthan’s spinners and then after Kane Richardson, the swing bowler from Australia.

The bat speed he generated was a sight to see. He rattled Rajasthan’s bowlers, especially Richardson who struggled to get his line right against the left-hander. He also ripped apart Watson all over the park. De Villiers then went after Faulkner. Even AB de Villiers played some fine shots at the other end. Rajasthan need to hold their nerve here.

Earlier, Yuvraj,  struggling for form was the one who opened up his shoulders to essay a few shots. In fact he played some fine sweep shots around the against leg-spinners in the opposition team. He also Ttewatia for a huge six in the 11th over of the game. His partner at the other end, AB de Villiers has been in fine form and Bangalore will look up to him to do well.

For Rajasthan all their bowlers have bowled  good lines and lengths. The pacers swung the ball and both leg-spinners bowled some fine wrong uns to trouble the batsmen. Their bowlers though need to maintain their consistency throughout the innings. It has to be said that the track is flat and Rajasthan should be confident of chasing down the  target.
