Yuvraj Singh leads fightback for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Kings XI Punjab in IPL 7

Apr 28, 2014

Yuvraj Singh held the key for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 2014 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 7. Rishi Dhawan came in to bowl the twelfth over of the innings. It was an uneventful over, as Albie Morkel and Yuvraj kept rotating the strike to get four off the over. RCB were in an ideal position for a fightback at 80 for five after 12 overs.

Glenn Maxwell was brought on to bowl the eleventh over after being taken for 20 in his first by Chris Gayle. Yuvraj and new batsman Albie Morkel looked comfortable against him, milking the over for seven runs without taking any undue risks.

Rishi Dhawan got the huge wicket of AB de Villiers soon after coming on to bowl. He bowled the tenth over and went for just three runs off his over while taking a wicket. He bowled a sedate over, not going for too many runs but not looking particularly threatening either. AB’s wicket was a bit of a bonus.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were 66 for four after nine overs against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. AB de Villiers was batting on 17, while Yuvraj had made 23. Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, Yogesh Takawale and Parthiv Patel were the batsmen to have been dismissed. Punjab skipper Bailey won the toss and sent Bangalore into bat. Chris Gayle had come back in the Royal Challengers Bangalore line-up, getting 20 off seven balls.
