Yuvraj Singh’s comeback lasts only 14 balls

Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh’s comeback match lasted only 14 balls. Playing in a practice match against U-25 cricketers from Karnataka at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Yuvraj came to bat at 70 for 2, chasing 286 runs, and scored only eight runs.

 

Yuvraj even bowled four over conceding only 26 runs. He was dismissed by wicketkeeper KC Avinash of a Ronit More delivery.

 

Yuvraj has been recovering from a non-malignant tumour in his left lung since November last year.

 

India’s squad for the tri-series in Australia is to be announced o Sunday. National selector Raja Venkat was present at the National Cricket Academy was the players.

 

DNA reported Venkat is likely to stay there till Friday to watch Harbhajan Singh’s match.

 

Along with Yuvraj, Suresh Raina, Praveen Kumar, Sikhar Dhawan, Irfan Pathan, Piyush Chawla, Rahul Sharma and Parthiv Patel were training there. Raina was the captain of the opposition.

 

Among others, Irfan scored 42 runs. However Praveen Kumar had been the most impressive on the field. He not only took two wickets for 51 runs but also scored 39 runs off 24 balls only.
