Zimbabwe are 13 for the loss of two wickets against Bangladesh at lunch on the fifth and final day of the 2nd Test at Khulna. Chasing a target of 314, Zimbabwe lost their two openers, Brian Chari and Sikandar Raza for cheap four and nine respectively.
The day began with the innings of Bangladesh, who were 201 for the loss of five wickets. However, they lost two early wickets in the start as Mahmudullah and Taijul Islam fell for 71 and one respectively. Later, Shahadat Hossain too departed for a mere three. Never-the-less, it was Shuvagata Hom who steered the innings to earn a respectable lead for the home team as he scored his maiden half-century. Although he was dismissed right after scoring it, but by then Bangladesh had a comfortable lead of 313 and skipper, Mushfiqur Rahim declared the innings setting a target of 314 for Zimbabwe to chase down and level terms in this series. Malcolm Waller and Natsai M’shangwe were the highest wicket-tajers in the innings claiming four wickets each for 59 and 82 respectively.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand started their innings on a sad note as both openers, Chari and Raza were dismissed for cheap in single figures off Taijul Islam and Shakib Al Hasan repectively. Currently Hamilton Masakadza and skipper, Brendan Taylor are on the crease and are yet to open their account.
