Zimbabwe were bundled for 226 against hosts Afghanistan in the fourth of the five-match One-Day International (ODI) series at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium on Monday. Dawlat Zadran and Rashid Khan claimed three wickets each, while Peter Moor and Chamu Chibhabha scored twin half-centuries, to propel Zimbabwe to the total, leaving Zimbabwe with a target of 227 to chase down.. Earlier, Zimbabwe skipper Elton Chigumbura won the toss and elected to bat first, as they moved in with an unchanged squad, while Afghanistan skipper Asghar Stanikzai made a change by bringing in Karim Sadiq for Samiullah Shenwari. Zimbabwe began their innings on a positive note as the openers in the form of Peter Moor and Chamu Chibhabha put up a healthy 92-run opening stand, with Moor scoring his second ODI half-century in 61 deliveries including six boundaries, before he fell for 52 in the 23rd over to Rashid Khan. It was followed by a 38-run stand between Chibhabha and Malcolm Waller, but Waller couldn’t last long enough as he made his way back off Mirwais Ashraf after scoring mere 15 runs. Meanwhile, Chibhabha brought up his 16th ODI half-century in 86 deliveries, including a boundary and a six, before falling to Rashid Khan for 53, after a 12-trun stand with Hamilton Masakadza at the score of 142. It was followed by a 28-run stand for the fourth wicket between Masaakadza and Richmond Mutumbani, before the latter was dismissed in the 42nd over to Amir Hamza.

Following the departure of Mutumbani, the partnerships were not as strong as the tail-enders chipped in. It was quixkly followed by a couple of more wickets in the form of Chigumbura for 13 and Sikandar Raza for mere nine just around 200, while Garaemem Cremer fell for mere 11 to Dawlat Zadran at the score of 216 in the 47th over. The 49th over saw Luke Jongwe being dismissed for mere 12 by Dawlat Zadran, while Tendai Chisoro was the final man to be dismissed for a golden duck, as Zimbabwe were bundled for 226 before the completion of the final over.
