Zimbabwe suspend Tinashe Panyangara for ‘disruptive behaviour’
Zimbabwe suspend Tinashe Panyangara

Aug 27, 2014
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) on Wednesday expelled pacer Tinashe Panyangara from the squad for the ongoing Zimbabwe Triangular Series 2014 due to ill-discipline and ‘disruptive’ behaviour during the team’s training session ahead of the first One-Day International (ODI) against Australia at Harare.
The Board said in a statement the bowler was not in the best of his behaviour but did not provide details of what exactly transpired. Panyangara has also been banished to practise with the country’s A side for the tour of Bangladesh next month.
All that Zimbabwe Cricket said in the statement about Panyangara was of having a “behaviour that the national team disciplinary committee found to be disruptive in the build-up to the first ODI of the triangular series, which Zimbabwe played against Australia on Monday”.
However, unconfirmed reports said that Panyangara has been punished for sharing a Mitchell Johnson video from The Ashes 2013-14 with his teammates. It was Johnson who broke a window of the commentary box at the Harare Sports Club, off the same bowler. Zimbabwe were thrashed by 198 runs by Australia in the first ODI of the tri-series.
