Zimbabwe were 38 for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of 10 overs in the first One Day International between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan held at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. Brendan Taylor was batting for 2 runs, and Sikandar Raza was batting for 15 runs.
Afghanistan started slowly in their innings but recovered well to score 223 in their 50 overs. Initially, Usman Ghani and Asghar Stanikzai failed to give Afghanistan a good start. Noor Ali Zadran showed some resistance, scoring 43 runs off 107 balls.
Mohammad Nabi played an attacking innings scoring 54 off 36 balls to salvage some pride for the visitors. Samiullah Shenwari too gave him good support scoring an unbeaten 65 off 85 balls. Tendai Chatara was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe taking two wickets for 37 runs.
