Zimbabwe were sailing smoothly at 118 for no loss at the end of 20 overs of their innings, with Hamilton Masakadza and Sikandar Raza batting at 51 and 60 respectively. The Afghanistan bowling attack has looked pretty ordinary so far, with the likes of Dawlat Zadran and Rahmat Shah going for a disastrous economy rate of over eleven runs per over.
The opening stand reached the 100-run mark in the 17th over. The pair soon reached their respective half centuries soon after. Pakistan-born Raza hit an impressive 60 of 61 balls while Masakadza reached his half-century at the end of the 20th over in as many deliveries.
Afghanistan desperately need a wicket if they are to stay in the hunt in the match and the series. They trail the 4-match series 0-1 after having lost the first match by six wickets.
