Zimbabwe and Afghanistan will take on each other in the second One-Day International (ODI) of the five-match series at Bulawayo. Zimbabwe were the convincing winners in the first match taking a thumping eight-wicket victory over the visiting Afghanistan side. Afghanistan will be keen to bounce back after the humiliating defeat at the hands of a the confident hosts. In the first game, Wellington Masakadza starred for Zimbabwe taking four Afghanistan wickets and he was assisted in the decimation of the Afghanistan batting by Luke Jongwe and Tendai Chisoro both of who picked three wickets each. Apart from Dawlat Zadran, Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Shahzad no batsman scored over 20 runs failing to adapt to the conditions quickly and they’ll hope to turn things around in the final game. It is important for Afghanistan to play calm, calculated knocks reducing risks until they become aware of the oddities of the pitch. If Zimbabwe wins this game their position to win the series will be significantly boosted. It is important to remember that Afghanistan bounced back from a 0-2 position in the series on their previous tour to take a 2-2 draw. Zimbabwe will be wary of that trait.
