Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat in the first One-Day International against New Zealand at Harare on Thursday.

The One-Day international series (ODI) will be tough proposition for the Zimabbweans considering the hammering they recieved in the just-concluded T20 series.

On Monday, New Zealand opening batsmen Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill continued their assault on the Zimbabwe bowlers to set up a comfortable win in the second and final Twenty20 international at Harare Sports Club.

The first of the three-match ODI series will be played at Harare Sports club.
