Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat in the first One-Day International against New Zealand at Harare on Thursday.

 

The One-Day international series (ODI) will be tough proposition for the Zimabbweans considering the hammering they recieved in the just-concluded T20 series.

 

On Monday, New Zealand opening batsmen Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill continued their assault on the Zimbabwe bowlers to set up a comfortable win in the second and final Twenty20 international at Harare Sports Club.

 

The first of the three-match ODI series will be played at Harare Sports club.

 

Teams:

 

Zimbabwe: Vusi Sibanda, Chamu Chibhabha, Hamilton Masakadza, Brendan Taylor (c), Tatenda Taibu (wk), Forster Mutizwa, Elton Chigumbura, Prosper Utseya, Ray Price, Kyle Jarvis, Chris Mpofu.

 

New Zealand: Brendon McCullum (wk), Martin Guptill, Jesse Ryder, Ross Taylor (c), Kane Williamson, James Franklin, Rob Nicol, Nathan McCullum, Doug Bracewell, Kyle Mills, Andy McKay.
