8 consecutive sixes, Akash Choudhary makes HISTORY: Slams fastest fifty in first-class cricket!

Meghalaya batter Akash Choudhary made history as he hit 8 sixes in a row and scored the fastest fifty in a first-class cricket match.

Meghalaya batter Akash Choudhary created history on Sunday by scoring the fastest half-century in first-class cricket during a Ranji Trophy match against Arunachal Pradesh. Akash became only the third player to hit six sixes in an over in first-class cricket and the fastest half-century in the format.

Akash Choudhary achieved this feat by hitting eight consecutive sixes while completing his half-century in 11 balls. In his innings, Akash hit six consecutive sixes in a single over of Arunachal bowler Limar Dabi. akash also hit sixes off his next two balls.

Coming in to bat at number eight, Chaudhary reached an unbeaten 50 off just 14 balls. After reaching his half-century, he played the next three balls as dots. Akash broke Wayne White’s record for the fastest half-century in first-class cricket.


Wayne White had scored a half-century off 12 balls in 2012. Clive Inman reached the milestone in 1965, taking 13 balls. He also became the fastest batsman to reach a half-century (just eight minutes). Clive Inman reached the milestone in nine minutes in 1965.

Akash Chaudhary is the third batsman to hit six consecutive sixes in first-class cricket. He is preceded by former Indian captain Ravi Shastri and West Indies’ Gary Sobers.
