Abhishek Sharma opens up on ‘mentally’ preparing himself for Australian conditions! Says ‘Face world-class bowlers’

Having impressed with his aggressive batting at the top, Abhishek Sharma said that he had for long looked forward to test himself on the bouncy Australian pitches and against high-quality pace attack. By the end of the series, he has scored 163 runs in five outings- even though two matches were rained out.

“I have been waiting for this tournament. When I got to know we’re going to Australia for the T20Is, I was very excited. Throughout my career, I’ve seen that Australia is very batting-friendly, and I wanted to prepare myself for these kinds of bowlers and conditions,” Abhishek said after India sealed the rain-affected series 2-1 on Saturday.

“If you want to play good cricket and do well for your team, you have to face world-class bowlers. I was practicing for these kinds of bowlers because that’s how you improve as a player,” he said.

Speaking about the series, India clinched the trophy as they had a lead of 2-1 by the end of last match. The first game was washed off due to intense rain, with the Australians winning the next one. However, the Men in Blue clapped back strong and secured two back-to-back victories in the third and fourth clash. The final match also got washed off.
