An injured left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh- who is yet to play in the ongoing Test series against England- is most likely not going to be available for selection for the fourth Test in Manchester (beginning July 23rd). For context, Arshdeep had injured his left hand during the team's net session on Thursday (July 17th).

On Saturday, the Indian team arrived in Manchester in order to step into the fourth Test and level the series. Following the training sessions in Beckenham, Arshdeep Singh was seen with a bandage on his bowling hand.

Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate hinted that Arshdeep Singh might be having a race with time to get fit for the Manchester Test even though he has not found a spot in the playing XI for the first three games.

We'll take a call on the combination we play, particularly given the Arshdeep situation as well, we'll make that call closer to Manchester. He took a ball while he was bowling there, Sai had a ball and he tried to stop it and it's just a cut, so we have to see how bad the cut is. Obviously the medical team has taken him off to see a doctor and obviously if he needs stitches or doesn't need stitches that's going to be important to our planning for the next few days,” Ryan had said.

The chances of Arshdeep Singh getting a spot in the playing XI was only if one of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were to be rested because of workload management. It is not yet announced if Bumrah will play the Manchester Test or the final match of the series.
