According to recent media reports, the Cricket of Association of Bengal has asked the BCCI to ban both Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull from commentating on KKR's matches in IPL 2025
Irfan Pathan removed from IPL 2025 commentary team
According to several media reports, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) have complained to BCCI against prominent commentator and analyst Harsha Bhogle.
Harsha Bhogle to be removed next?
The CAB wants BCCI to ban both Bhogle and Doull from commentating in the Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL matches. This comes after Doull’s blunt statement on Eden Gardens’ pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee where he stated, “If he’s (the curator) not taking heed of what the home team wants… I mean, they are paying the stadium fees, they are paying for what’s going on in the IPL but if he’s still not paying heed of what the home team wants, then just move the franchise away to somewhere else. His job is not to pass an opinion on the game. That’s not what he’s paid for.”
CAB doesn’t want Bhogle and Simon Doull to commentate in KKR’s matches
The CAB doesn’t agree with Doull’s remarks at all and believes that Mukherjee isn’t at fault here. “He is only following the BCCI rule book which states that no franchise can have a say on the nature of the pitch. He has also followed the guidelines about how the wicket should be prepared,” a Revsportz report read.
CAB feels that pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee has done nothing wrong
The Kolkata Knight Riders captain also called out the pitch curator earlier in the season. KKR haven’t had a great record at the Eden Gardens in the ongoing IPL campaign and also lost their previous match at the venue against the Gujarat Titans on Monday.
KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane also expressed his displeasure with the pitch curator
Following his alleged comments about some senior India cricketers, Bhogle was banned from commentating for the ninth season of the Indian Premier League.
