1. Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka) – 800 wickets
The legendary Sri Lanka spinner is the highest wicket-taker in the longest format of the game. Muralitharan played a total of 133 Test matches and finished with a brilliant average of 22.72.
2. Shane Warne (Australia) – 708 wickets
The legendary Australia spinner is the highest-wicket taker in red-ball cricket from his country. Warne played a total of 145 Tests throughout his illustrious career and had a fantastic average of 25.41 in the format.
3. James Anderson (England) – 704 wickets
The legendary England pacer performed exceptionally well in Test cricket throughout his career. Anderson played a total of 188 matches in the format and had a superb average of 26.45.
4. Anil Kumble (India) – 619 wickets
The legendary spinner from India is the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket from the country. Kumble played a total of 132 Tests in his career and had a great average of 29.65.
5. Stuart Broad (England) – 604 wickets

7. Nathan Lyon (Australia) – 552 wickets
The Australia spinner is the highest wicket-taking active bowler in the longest format. Lyon has so far featured in 136 Tests for the Baggy Greens and has an average of 30.24.
