Asia Cup 2025: BCCI announced Change in Timings, India-Pakistan match to now be held at THIS time
The BCCI made changes in the timing of 18 out of the 19 matches that are to be held in the Asia Cup 2025, including the highly-intense India-Pakistan match.
The Asia Cup 2025 is going to begin September 9, and the final of the tournament will be held on September 28. A total of 8 teams are going to face each other in this tournament hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) . However, the timings of all the matches witnessed a sudden change.
What is the change in timing?
The matches will now begin half an hour late that the previously scheduled Indian Standard Time. 18 of the 19 Asia Cup matches of the upcoming Asia Cup- including the final- will now begin 6:30 PM local time, half an hour earlier than the original scheduled time.
Why the timings were changed?
The tournament is going to be held in September- where the temperature reaches 40°C and stays that way till the evening. In order to avoid playing in such extreme heat, the BCCI requested for the match timing to be extended slightly. This request was made to broadcasters, to which they also agreed.
When will India's matches be held?
As per the previous timings, the India-Pakistan match was to be held at 7:30 PM IST. Now, according to the revised timings, all the matches (apart from one) will be held half an hour late, which means all the matches, including the India-Pak match, will begin 8:00 PM IST.
Which match will be held as per the old timing?
As mentioned earlier, the change in timing is not applicable to one of the match in the tournament, which is the clash between UAE and Oman- set to be held on September 15 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
