Asia cup 2025 going to be Heartbreak for Shreyas Iyer? Report makes a massive claim

The squad for the event is set to be picked on August 19, as claimed by a report by Times of India. The report has also stated that Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer might get ignored from being selected as the team management is aiming to go with the current T20I opening pair of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma.

Both Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave their last T20I appearances for India around a year ago, whereas, Shreyas Iyer played his last T20I in 2023. Shreyas currently only plays for India in ODIs while Gill and Jaiswal also play in Test format.

If the report turns out to be correct and Shreyas is ignored once again, it is going to be another heartbreak for the star, as he did not also get picked for the recently-concluded England Test series.
