India and Oman faced each other as the last match of the Asia Cup 2025 league stage on September 19. Coming out to bat first, there were Though the clash was filled with interesting moments, one biggest point to talk about is Suryakumar Yadav not coming out to bat at all.
Suryakumar Yadav has come out to play at No. 3 in the earlier 2 games, but did not even stepped on the field this time with the bat- giving out his position to Sanju Samson who had not played a single ball in the tournament so far. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel were two more players who played at unusual positions- coming at 4th and 5th place respectively.
In a shocking move, Suryakumar Yadav spent the whole time of India’s innings sitting on the benches while being padded up. Since Suryakumar was completely fit during the toss, and there is no report of any injury, it is most likely that this decision was taken just in order to give chance to rest of the players.
Talking about the match, India’s innings ended as they completed their quota of 20 overs, posting a total of 188 runs on the board. Sanju Samson was the most important player throughout this innings, as he played an impressive half-centurial known- along with Abhishek Sharma, Axar Patel and Tilak Varma making valuable contributions.
