Shahrukh Khan's IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders failed to chase the total of 112 runs agaisnt Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Internation Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.

KKR batters failed bat test in IPL

Kolkata Knight Riders batter Sunil Narine and Anrich Nortje failed the bat test in IPL. The incident involving Narine occurred first. The one with Nortje happened at the beginning of the 16th over during KKR’s innings. Play was paused as substitute Rahmanullah Gurbaz entered the field carrying spare bats for Nortje. One of the replacement bats was approved and cleared for use.

In the past, bats were checked inside the dressing rooms during the IPL.
