BCCI likely to call-up Varun Chakravarthy and Nitish Reddy with their maiden contracts: Report

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly going to give Varun Chakravarthy and Nitish Kumar Reddy with their maiden central contracts, while the complete list of centrally contracted players is going to be released soon.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is soon going to release it's first list of centrally contracted players. Before the board's release, a lot of reports are coming about the players that might be the part of new contract list. A few of the players are going to get their maiden call-ups.

Cricbuzz has reported that Varun Chakravarthy along with Shreyas Iyer might get a central contract. Along with them, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhishek Sharma are also going to get their maiden contracts.

Varun Chakravarthy made a strong comeback to Indian team, and made his way to the ODI side. The mystery spinner starred in the Champions Trophy 2025, as he bagged the joint-most wickets for the team.

Nitish Kumar Reddy had an unforgettable tour if Australia, as he scored 298 runs in 9 innings. He was consistent with his performance on the tour and even scored a century.

Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana made their debuts in the 2024-25 season. Though Abhishek is only part of the T20I side as of now, Harshit has played all three formats, and was also part of India's Champions Trophy 2025 winning team.
