Former Indian star Mohammed Kaif lashed out at team management for dropping Karun Nair and not giving him a chance to redeem himself after failed performances in India vs England Test series.
The reason that the team decided to drop Karun Nair was because of his poor run with his form. Even though Karun made his comeback in the national jersey after eight long years, he did not impress in the series- scoring just 131 runs in the six innings he played, that also with an average of below 22.
Former Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif was not pleased with Shubman Gill not backing Karun Nair and ending up dropping him. Kaif went on to his official X (formerly known as Twitter), and lashed out at the team for dropping the domestic star and not giving him a chance to earn respect.
“Today was Shubman Gill’s chance to back karun who was down but deserved one more chance. He should have picked Karun Nair. Chance missed to earn the respect when it comes to making tough decisions as a leader,” Kaif wrote on his X account.
Speaking about the series, England is leading 2-1 following their 22-run win at Lord’s. For the fourth Test, a number of changes were made- with Anshul Kamboj making his debut being the biggest change.
