When a leather ball hits in the middle of the willow the sound which comes is said to be the most pleasing thing for a batsman. But, when we talk about a bowler, the only thing that pleases him is when his ball hits the timber and produces a cracky sound.
Something similar happened to a Surrey bowler Sam Curran when he took the wicket of Tom Bailey of Lancashire with his toe crushing yorker. Photographer Clint Hughes for Getty Images captured this captivating moment at Old Trafford. For any bowler a moment where the middle stump is shattered with bails in the air is their desired wish when on the field.
All this happened on the day three of a match between Lancashire and Surrey in LV County Championship Division Two on Wednesday. Batting first, Surrey scored 480 runs and in return, Lancashire could only manage 272 runs. Currently, Surrey has scored 150 runs in the second innings with two wickets down and have gained a healthy lead of 358 at stumps on day three.
