After returning to her village, Renuka Thakur visited the famous Hatkoti Temple near Rohru and got blessings from many. While interaction with the media persons present at the venue, Renuka gave the credit of her success to her mother and her uncle who saw her talent and supported her all the time.

My hardwork is yielding results but the credit goes to my mother and Bhupinder uncle who spotted my talent and supported me. There was a lot of pressure as we had lost three matches back-to-back and the last three matches were crucial but we were hopeful of winning the world cup,” Renuka said while speaking to media persons.

Notably, Renuka Thakur has a tattoo of her father on her hand, which is her motivation – as it was the dream of her father Kehar Singh Thakur to see his kids perform great in sports. Renukar’s father had unfortunately passed away when she was just three years old, and it was her mother Sunita Thakur who raised her.

It was Renuka Thakur’s uncle Bhupinder Singh Thakur, who had spotted the talent in a young Renuka – and supported her throughout the 13-14 years of hard work that she did.
