Dale Steyn: A contrasting character off the field

South African pace bowler Dale Steyn is considered to be one of the finest bowlers in world cricket. On the field, he is a tough competitor and has given torrid times to the best of batters in world cricket. He sports an angry look, steams in hard and never shies away from giving a piece of his mind to the opponent.

But that’s him on the field, off it, he is one of the most jovial guys around who loves to fool around with his teammates. He is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and ahead of Thursday’s match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), the SRH players were seen warming up.

Known for his his funny antics, Steyn walked close to the lens of the cameraman and posed with a tongue out, making a funny face. The image was posted from SRH’s official Twitter account. The 31-year old pacer has made a handful of appearances in this edition for SRH, with Trent Boult leading the pace attack for the team in most occasions but the pacer has still ran in and bowled his heart out. The bowling unit of SRH has definitely benefitted with someone like his calibre present in the dressing room.
