Rohit Sharma played a key role in convincing Yashasvi Jaiswal to stay with Mumbai. Jaiswal later scored 411 runs vs England, including two centuries.
Although a move to Goa was initially on the cards, Yashasvi Jaiswal ultimately decided to stay with Mumbai’s domestic team. While the reason behind his change of heart was unclear at first, a report by the Mumbai Mirror has shed liht on the matter. According to (MCA) President Ajinkya Naik, it was Rohit Sharma who persuaded Jaiswal to remain with Mumbai.
On the third day of the Oval Test between India and England, Rohit Sharma was in attendance as Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a gutsy century that helped India set a target of 374 runs. After the match, Rohit reportedly sent Jaisawal a message appreciating his performance. “I saw Rohit bhai and I said hi to him. Unhone mujhe yehi message diya ki khelte rehna (He gave me the message to bat on), that was it,” Jaiswal told the reporters after stumps.
Yashasvi Jaiswal had a solid outing with the bat in the recently concluded five-match Test series against England. The left-handed scored 411 runs in 10 innings, including two centuries and two half-centuries.
