The former Indian captain ended his career with 13,288 runs in 164 matches and is one of only two Indian players to have scored over 10,000 runs in two formats. Dravid finished with an impressive Test average of 52.31.

He is followed by Ricky Ponting, who scored 13,378 runs in 168 Tests with 41 centuries. Joe Root is currently in excellent form and has the potential to finish his career as the leading run-scorer in Test cricket.
