Following Harbhajan slapgate, Lalit Modi reveals what made Yuvraj Singh hit his iconic 6 sixes! The reason is…

After leaking footage of Harbhajan-Sreesanth slapgate, Lalit Modi has shared an incident about Yuvraj Singh and him hitting 6 sixes.

Following the incident of leaving the entire world cricket stunned by leaking the video footage of Harbhajan Singh-S Sreesanth slap incident, former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi has revealed another secret. Lalit has claimed that he had promised Indian team that he would gift a Porsche to whoever hit six sixes in an over during 2007 ICC World T20.

During a conversation with former Australian captain Michael Clarke, Lalit Modi revealed that he had promised that he would gift a Porsche car to any player from the national team who could manage to hit six sixes in an over i.e. hitting 36 runs in an over (or more).

Before the 2007 T20 World Cup, I told everyone that whoever would hit six sixes or take 6 wickets in an over would receive a Porsche,” Modi said in a chat with Clarke on the Beyond23 Podcast.

Yuvraj Singh was the one who eventually did what Lalit Modi had asked him- hitting six sixes in an over. This was when India faced England in the T20 World Cup 2007, where he hit Stuart Broad for six maximums in the same over. Lalit even revealed that Yuvraj then came running towards him asking for the promised Porsche.

Yuvraj looks at me on the boundary…he raises the bat and he comes running to me, ‘I want my Porsche’, I said, ‘give me the bat’,” Modi said.
