The incident began when India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav did not shake hands with Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha after the match. Tensions rose further when the Indian players left the field without greeting any of the Pakistani players following their 7-wicket win, adding fuel to the controversy.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made a big issue out of the Indian players’ behavior and filed a formal complaint with the ICC against match referee Andy Pycroft. They claimed that Pycroft instructed Salman Ali Agha not to shake hands with Suryakumar Yadav and demanded his removed from the Asia Cup.

They have become so shameless that they want to force us into shaking hands. What kind of mentality do they have? Everyone came to know that you had been insulted. If we are not willing to meet you, then why are you insisting?” Wassan told ANI.

They insulted themselves more after filing the complaint. The complaint shows how immature and juvenile they are. Our message was clear that we played for the ecosystem, but not to expect anything more from us because we don’t like you at all,” he added.
