Gujarat Titans (GT) joined the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022 as one of the new teams. The franchise was bought by CVC Capital Partners for ₹5625 crore.
Before the 2022 mega auction, GT picked Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill as their main players. Hardik became the captain, and Ashish Nehra was appointed as the head coach.
In 2022, one of the greatest performers of the Indian Premier League. Gujrat Titans most expensive was star New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson. Which was purchased for 10 crore for Gujrat. However, he played a major role in that season for his franchise. Titans came as the winner of the season that year.
