‘Go all the way…’: South African star batter backs his Women’s team to win the World Cup Final

As both the Indian and South African women gear up for the marquee clash, star better from Proteas – Zubayr Hamza – has backed his side for winning the title clash, implying how the team has performed so well so far and go even further to lift their maiden World Cup title.

“I think it’s fantastic. We really hope that they can go all the way and lift the trophy. The other night, we were watching the Pro T20, just all of us cooped up in a room, enjoying it and supporting them. I’m sure we’ll do the same come Sunday,” Hamza said here during the first four-day against India A.

Speaking about the Indian women’s team, they ended their knockout stage by finishing fourth in the league phase- losing three games. However, against all odds, the Women in Blue clapped back in the semifinals- as they beat seven-time winner Australia in a record chase of 339 runs.

Speaking about South African women’s team, they lost two of their seven matches and finished third in the league phase. They then beat England by a great margin of 125 runs in the first semifinal in Guwahati- securing their name in the summit clash.
