The 32-year-old is currently recovering from a quadriceps injury which he sustained during the Asia Cup 2025.

Press Trust of India (PTI) has reported that Hardik Pandya is going to first prove his match fitness as he plays for Baroda in the SMAT, and he would then play the T20I series against South Africa and New Zealand. The T20Is vs Proteas will begin December 9.

The report has also stated that Hardik Pandya will not feature in the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa, which is going to begin November 30 in Ranchi. Apart from Pandya, pacer Jasprit Bumrah will also miss the ODI series for workload management.
