Hardik Pandya to Anil Kumble: Captains to record the best bowling figures in IPL

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya took a highly impressive fifer against LSG

The Mumbai Indians skipper rose to the occasion and ended up taking 5 wickets in his side's clash against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Pandya scripted history with the 5-wicket haul

The Mumbai Indians skipper finished his quota of 4 overs with the figures of 5/36 as the Lucknow Super Giants posted a total of 203/8 in 20 overs. With this, Pandya became the first-ever captain to pick up a five-wicket haul in IPL history. He also became the captain to record the best bowling figures in the league.

1. Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians) - 5/36

The Mumbai Indians skipper proved to be incredible with the ball and rattled the Lucknow Super Giants batting order. If it wasn't for Pandya's sensational fifer, the opposition would have posted a far bigger total than what they posted.

Anil Kumble

2. Anil Kumble (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) - 4/16

The former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper rose to the occasion and bowled a terrific spell in the final of the 2009 season of IPL against the Deccan Chargers. Kumble picked up wickets on regular intervals and massively helped his side in restricting the opposition to the total of 143/6.

3. Anil Kumble (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) - 4/16

The former RCB skipper repeated the feat once again during a clash against the Deccan Chargers in the 2010 season. Kumble's fantastic spell massively helped his side in bundling out the opposition for just 82 runs. The Bengaluru-based franchise later went on to chase down the target with ease.

JP Duminy

4. JP Duminy (Delhi Daredevils) - 4/17

The former Delhi Daredevils skipper gave a fantastic all-round performance against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2015 season of IPL. First, Duminy played a valiant knock of 54 to carry his side to the total of 167/4. He then went on to clinch 4 wickets and bowl an excellent spell to restrict the opposition to 163/8 after 20 overs, guiding the Delhi-based franchise to a 4-run victory.
