The game of cricket enjoys a huge fan following across the globe but some fans stand out for their extreme passion for the sport. Photographer Hannah Peters of Getty Images was able to capture the most famous and recognisable fans of the game in one frame.
Identified as the number one fan of the Indian cricket team, Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary, also know as Sudhir Gautam, along with Pakistan-India supporter Mohammad Basheer Bozai, the new chacha (Urdu for: Uncle) from Chicago and Ireland’s Adrian Raftery, also known as Larry Leprechaun were photographed together while cheering for their respective teams during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match between India and Ireland in Hamilton on Tuesday. Basheer is a Pakistani and his wife is an India. He supports both – India and Pakistan, and is a huge admirer of Indian captain MS Dhoni.
Of course the Indian fans had the last laugh as they went on to thump Ireland by eight wickets, registering their ninth consecutive win in the World Cups and fifth in the tournament. (ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Points Table)
