Hashmatullah Shahidi missed out on a maiden hundred by a mere three runs but still steered Afghanistan to a challenging 257-6 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup at Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Shahidi was joined by skipper Asghar Afghan and the duo added 94 runs for the fourth wicket in 16.3 over to drive Afghanistan (AFP Image)

In the end, it took the experienced Shoaib Malik to get Pakistan out of jail as he remained unbeaten on 51 off 43 balls, taking 10 runs off the last over and helping Pakistan edge Afghanistan by three wickets in the best match of the 2018 Asia Cup so far (AFP Image)
