IND-PAK Asia Cup no-handshake Controversy: Sources reveal the foundation of the Blunder

IND and PAK players did not shake hands after their Asia Cup 2025 clash, leading to a controversy. Now, sources have revealed the cause of the incident.

The IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025 clash ended up as a one-sided match as the Men in Blue secured a 7-wicket victory at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (September 14). However, a major controversy has filled the internet ever since the conclusion of the match- as none of the Indian players shook hands from with players of the Pakistan team.

Both the teams not shaking hands has been a major talking point from the match, which was a decision from the Indian side and was conveyed to Match referee Andy Pycroft ahead of the toss. As a result, there was no handshake between the two captains.

Sources in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) have now revealed that for the situation about after the match, match referee Andy Pycroft forgot to tell the Pakistan team that the Indian players will not be shaking hands with them, which was the reason of the PAK players being shocked after the Men in Blue just walked off the field to their dressing room.


According to sources of NDTV, Andy Pycroft even went on to apologize to the Pakistan team for failing to clarify that the Indian team will continue their ‘no-handshake’ protocol for after the math as well.
