Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has stated that since the Pakistan team is going with a spin-heavy bowling attack, they might pose a threat to the Men in Blue.
Now, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has expressed how Pakistan’s spin-heavy bowling is going to be a massive challenge for India when the two nations meet in the tournament. The clash is going to begin 8:00 PM IST, and will be held at the Dubai International ricket Stadium.
The Pakistan team has usually been known for their premium pace-bowling attack. However, since the conditions in United Arab Emirates (UAE) come in favour of spin-bowling- along with the new- era of T20 cricket having more and more power hitters, their head coach Mike Hesson decided to go with spinners for the tournament.
With India coming up against Pakistan tomorrow (September 14), Sanjay Manjrekar believes this bowling approach, being heavy on spinners, is going to pose a new sort of challenge for the Men in Blue.
“I like this bowling combination because it’s India vs Pakistan, and I feel this attack might give the Indian batters something different to think about. They’ve played Pakistan in world events before, but usually against a certain kind of attack. This is completely different — hardly any pace on show — and maybe Wasim [Akram] would hate it,” Manjrekar said on Sony Sports Network.
With India beginning their Asia Cup 2025 campaign wit a dominant 9-wicket victory over the United Arab Emirates- most of the focus is going to be on Men in Blue and how they face Pakistan’s revamped spin attack.
