PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently attended a conference, where he opened up about India-Pakistan and their sporting ties.
India and Pakistan last faced each other during the Champions Trophy 2025, where both the teams faced each other in Dubai, which was taken as the neutral venue since Pakistan themselves were the hosts of the tournament. Now, the two nations are going to face each other once again- this time while playing in the Asia Cup.
Since BCCI has denied bilateral cricket with Pakistan for a long period of time, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has now stated that the PCB will no longer ‘beg’ India to partake in bilateral cricket. Mohsin is also the boss of Asian Cricket Council, and has made it clear that all the negotiations on the topic of India-Pakistan will be held on ‘equal footing‘.
“I think we are very clear that whenever talks are held will be on an equal footing with India and there will be no more begging for negotiations. That time has passed and whatever will happen will be on the basis of equality,” Naqvi said during a press conference.
Speaking about the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup clash- both the teams are placed in Group A, and are going to face each other on September 14. This one clash is a fixed clash set to happen if the conditions are perfect. However, as the tournament will progress, the two teams might face each other more than once.
