India will face South Africa in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 final at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday – a clash that could see either side lift their maiden World Cup trophy.
Both teams are chasing history, hoping to end their long wait for an ODI World Cup title. But behind every successful team are the people who work tirelessly off the field – the strategists, motivators, and mentors who help the players perform at their best.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the key figures behind India’s remarkable journey to the final:

Amol Muzumdar – Head coach & Batting coach
Appointed in October 2023, Amol Muzumdar has brought a wealth of experience and calm leadership to the Indian women’s cricket team. A former domestic stalwart, Muzumdar represented Mumbai, Assam, and Andhra Pradesh during his playing career.
Before taking over as India’s head coach, he also worked with the India Under-19 and U-23 teams as a batting coach, earning praise for his ability to develop young talent. Under his guidance, the Indian women’s side has shown renewed confidence, discipline, and consistency – qualities that have defined their journey to the 2025 final.
Aavishkar Salvi – Bowling coach
Former Indian cricketer Aavishkar Salvi, who represented Mumbai in domestic cricket and played for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the IPL, currently serves as the bowling coach of the Indian women’s cricket team. Before taking up the role during the 2024 South Africa series, the former pacer coached the Punjab and Pondicherry teams.
Munish Bali – Fielding coach
Since 2022, Munish Bali has been associated with the senior Indian women’s cricket team as a fielding coach. Before that, he coached Punjab’s U-15, U-16, U-17, and U-19 teams and also served as the fielding coach of the India Women’s U-19 side. Bali was part of the support staff for the Indian women’s team in 2011 and 2012 and played a key role as the assistant coach of India’s U-19 World Cup-winning team in 2008.
A.I. Harsha – S&C coach
Asshok Iyengar Harrsha serves as the performance and strength & conditioning (S&C) coach at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) under the BCCI. A former cricket who represented Hyderabad in First-Class cricket, Harsha has been working with the NCA for over six years.
Aniruddha Deshpande – Performance Analyst
Aniruddha Deshpande works as a performance analyst with the Indian women’s cricket team, the BCCI, and the Vidarbha Cricket Association. He played cricket for the Vidarbha U-19 team.
Harini Murali – Team Doctor
Harini Murali serves as the team doctor for the Indian women’s cricket team at the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup. She previously worked with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the WPL, serving as both manager and team doctor for all three seasons.
Rakhi V Darne – Head Physiotherapist
Rakhi V. Darne has worked as a physiotherapist with the Punjab Cricket Association for several years before taking over as the head of sports physiotherapy with the Indian women’s hockey team in April 2023. She has also previously served as a sports physiotherapist for the BCCI.
Akanksha Satyavanshi – Team Physiotherapist
Akanksha Satyavanshi currently serves as a team physiotherapist for the Indian women’s cricket team, bringing over five years of experience with the BCCI. She also worked as the team physiotherapist for the Gujarat Giants in the 2023 Women’s Premier League.
Dhananjay Kaushik – Team Head SSM
Dhananjay Kaushik serves as the Head of Sports Science and Medicine for the Indian women’s cricket team at the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. A lead physiotherapist at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Kaushik brings over 18 years of experience working at the highest level, including with Olympic sports.
