IPL 2025 has been suspended for a week

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been suspended by the BCCI for a week, following the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

The decision to suspend IPL came after the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala was called off on Thursday due to air raid alerts in nearby cities.

12 league matches and 4 knockout games remaining

12 league matches and four knockout games are yet to be played in the ongoing IPL 2025, the BCCI plans to wait until tensions ease before deciding whether to resume the tournament.

PBKS could have been the first team to secure a playoff spot.

The Punjab Kings could have been the first to secure a playoff spot if they had won the match against Delhi Capitals. A solid batting display, by openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, had Punjab Kings in a commanding position at 122/1 after 10.1 overs when the match was stopped.

No changes have been made to the points table.

According to IPL's website, no changes has been made to the points table following the suspension of IPL clash between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. Punjab Kings are still in the third place with 16 points in 11 games whereas Delhi Capitals is on the fifth place with 14 points in 11 games.

Gujarat Titans continue to be the table toppers.

The IPL points table remains unchanged for the time being, with Gujarat Titans holding the top spot with 16 points from 11 matches. Royal Challengers Bengaluru also have the same points but a lower Net Run Rate (NRR). PBKS is at third place, while Mumbai Indians are in fourth with 14 points from 12 matches.

Rising security concerns started esclating following conflict between India and Pakistan. Earlier this week, India carried out missile strikes targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam.
