Former Indian legend Irfan Pathan has urged the ICC to make changes in their rules regarding DRS system, which might turn out to be a massive setback for batting teams.

This suggestion by Irfan Pathan came after Shubman Gill was given out LBW in the 14th over of the 4th T20I against Australia – where the DRS showed an inside edge. Gill could have taken a couple runs if the current rule had not been in place. Pathan feels that no such rule should exist and it will turn up as a big problem going forward.

If you appeal and the umpire gives it out and a batter takes a review and if it goes outside leg stump, it’s not out. The ball takes the pad and goes away but you miss that run and you have to come back on strike because a review is taken,” Pathan said while speaking on his YouTube channel.

You keep the game on and the run won’t be missed. Otherwise, every team will miss the run. Just imagine, it’s a World Cup final and you lose by a run and this could be that run. ICC needs to change this rule. It will be a problem if it’s not changed,” he added.

Speaking about Indian team, they are currently leading 2-1 in the Australia T20I series. The first match of the series saw no result as the game was washed off due to rain, followed by the Men in Blue losing the second match. However, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side clapped back strong and secured back-to-back two victories to end up in this lead.
