England wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith scripted history on Day 2 of the third Test at Lord’s against India by reaching 1,000 Test runs in the fewest balls as a wicketkeeper-batter.
Smith surpassed Sarfaraz Khan
Jamie Smith surpassed India'a Sarfaraz Khan as he reached the milestone in 1303 balls and broke the record of Sarfaraz Khan who achieved this feat in 1311 deliveries.
Smith also became the joint-fastest wicketkeeper-batter to score 1000 runs in Test
Jamie Smith also ethched his name in the history as he equalled the world record of scoring the fastest 1000 runs in Test cricket by a wicketkeeper batter. Smith along with Quinton de Kock took 21 innings to score the fastest 1000 runs.
