Jasprit Bumrah creates history, Secures his name in Lord’s Honours Board with THIS great feat
Jasprit Bumrah has secured his name on the Lord's Honours Board, and has done so while also surpassing legendary Kapil Dev.
India's star pacer Jasprit Bumrah secure his name in Lord's honours board with his fifer against England during 2nd day of the third Test at the Lord's. Bumrah basically completed his 15th five-wicket haul in the red-ball format. Bumrah had takes a wicket in final session of Day 1, then he took 3 wickets early in Day 2, and another one in the second session- completing his fifer.
This is the second consecutive time Jasprit Bumrah has taken a five-wicket haul in this series, as he secured a fifer in the first Test as Leeds as well. For the second match of the series, Bumrah was rested- where Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj were the pacers in the XI.
The day started with England continuing with a score of 251/4. However, Jasprit Bumrah did his best in restricting them from posting a commanding total through his fifer. He turned the match a lot as he claimed wickets of Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes- reducing the English team from 251/4 to 271/7.
Apart from being the 15th five-wicket haul in his career, Bumrah has also done this feat 13th time in an overseas Test match. Hence, he also broke the record for the most five-wicket hauls by an Indian in overseas Test. This record was previously held by legendary Indian captain Kapil Dev, who had 12 in 66 red-ball matches.
