English cricketer Joe Root was recently elected as the England’s player of the year for 2014-15 by British Sport Journalists. Root has been England’s best performer with the bat in the past one year. He is the Test vice-captain and once again bailed England out from a calamitous position on the day one of the first Test between England and New Zealand.

The above picture was captured by photographer Dan Mullen of Getty Images, during the first day’s play. Root and Ben Stokes were coming out to bat after the lunch, when Root accidentally collided with the cameraman, which left the latter on the ground. Root gracefully helped him by picking up his camera and assistied him in getting back on his feet.

England had lost four wickets for 30 runs. The 24 year-old Englishman weathered the early storm and rescued the England innings. His knock of 98 ensured they posted 389 on the board in their first innings.
