Karun Nair marked his return to Test cricket as he got named in the playing XI for the series against England. With this call-up, Karun also secured his name in an unusual record list.
1) Jaydev Unadkat
Though former bowler Jaydev Unadkat played only 4 Test matches, he is at the top of this list, as he missed 118 matches in 12 years between the time span of 2010 and 2022.
2) Dinesh Karthik
Former wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik is at the second place in the list. He played 26 Test matches throughout his career, and missed 87 matches in 18 years between the time span of 2010 and 2018.
3) Parthiv Patel
Former wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel is at the next place in the list. With 25 Test matches to his name, he missed 83 matches in 8 years between the time span of 2008 and 2016.
4) Karun Nair
Top-order batter Karun Nair has now secured his place in the list. With 6 Tests to his name as of now, he missed 77 matches in 8 years between the time span of 2017 and 2025.
5) Abhinav Mukund
Former top-order batter Abhinav Mukund is at the last place in the top 5 list. He played 7 Test matches in his career, and missed 56 matches in 6 years between the time span of 2011 and 2017.
