Mitchell Starc ICC award

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc recorded a memorable ten-wicket haul against England in the first Test of the Ashes at Optus Stadium in Perth. Taking a chaotic 7/58 in the first innings, Starc continued his attack and dismissed Zak Crawley, Joe Root and Ben Stokes to secure the iconic moment.

Mitchell Starc is the first Australian pacer to take a ten-wicket haul in the Ashes Tests since 1990/91, where Craig McDermott returned figures of 11/157- which was also in Perth. It is worth noting that Starc is the second ever left-arm pacer to have taken a ten-fer for the Aussies in Ashes.

During the game, Mitchell Starc continued to maintain his dominance over two biggest stars of England i.e. Ben Stokes and Joe Root. Starc has dismissed Stokes 11 times in Tests while giving out 309 runs. On the other hand, he has dismissed Root 10 times now, while conceding 349 runs.
