Massive achievement for Sanju Samson: Surpassed Gautam Gambhir in THIS elite record list

With this knock against Sri Lanka, Sanju Samson surpassed Gautam Gambhir in an elite list. Sanju- who has scored 969 runs for India in T20Is, has surpassed Gambhir- who had scored 932 runs in his 20-over international career.

Sanju Samson made his debut in the T20I format in 2015, but was dropped. He was kept away from the format for almost four years, but made his comeback in Indian T20I side in 2019. However, his place in the format was not secured as he was in and out of the team for another few years.

Sanju Samson was then part of the Indian team in the 2024 T20 World Cup, but he was warming the benches. Since the mega-event in 2024, Samson has been a regular player in the final XI, and now his image is like that of a confirmed player for the 2026 World Cup.
