Mayank Agarwal joins RCB as replacement of Devdutt Padikkal: Virat Kohli welcomes him with a warm gesture

Mayank Agarwal has been taken by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for Rs. 1 crore as a replacement of Devdutt Padikkal who got ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to an injured right hamstring.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have taken in Mayank Agarwal as the injury replacement for an injured Devdutt Padikkal. Mayank was not fortunate enough to get a deal in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, but Padikkal’s injury marked his entry in the tournament. Virat Kohli gave him a great welcome as he joined RCB.

Devdutt Padikkal had played 10 matches for RCB this season, and had scored 247 runs accompanied by 2 half-centuries. He got ruled out of the tournament because of an injury in his right hamstring.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have signed Mayank Agarwal as an injury replacement for Devdutt Padikkal for the remainder of TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Devdutt Padikkal sustained an injury to his right hamstring,” the IPL wrote in their statement on May 7.

Mayank Agarwal has played 127 matches in the tournament, where he has scored 2661 runs. He has also scored a century in IPL, along with 13 half-centuries. Mayank was taken in for a price of Rs. 1 crore.

Mayank Agarwal has represented a number of teams in IPL. He used to play for RCB, then he even played for Delhi Capitals, Rising Pune Supergiants, Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
