Indian Cricket Team, Hemu Adhikari played for India from 1947 to 1959. Adhikari scored 872 runs at an average of 31.14, including one century and four half-centuries, and also took three wickets as a leg-spinner. During World War II, Adhikari served for the Indian Army. He ended his military career as a Lieutenant Colonel.

C.K.Nayudu was the first Indian Test captain and even before his international debut, Nayudu was conferred as a Colonel in Holkar’s Army in 1923. He scored 350 runs at an average of 25, including two half-centuries and took 9 wickets with his off-spin.
1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev also joined the Territorial Army in 2008 and was later awarded the rank of lieutenant colonel by the army.
Legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar joined the Indian Air Force with the rank of group captain in 2010. Tendulkar became the first person without an aviation background to receive this honour.

Waught hit Lance Klusener's delivery straight to Gibbs at mid-on who initially caught the ball but spilled it when he tried the throw the ball up in the air to celebrate the dismissal. The wickets kept on falling at regular intervals and despite valiant efforts from Jacques Kallis (53) and Jonty Rhodes (43), South Africa were bowled out for 213, with the game ending as a tie. Brain-Fade Moment For Lance Klusner The Proteas were set for a win when Lance Klusener whacked the first two deliveries of the 50th over by Damien Fleming for boundaries, leaving South Africa just one to win in the remaining four balls, with one wicket in hand. However, a brain-fade moment by Allan Donald saw him getting run out, with South Africa giving away a golden opportunity to play the final. Australia moved into the final on account of their win over South Africa in the league stage. Australia beat Pakistan in the final to their second World Cup.
