New Zealand's leading run scorer, Kane Williamson, celebrates his 35th birthday in The Hundred, capping a career with WTC glory and IPL success.
Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson celebrated his 35th birthday on 8 August. While currently out of the national side, he remains active in franchise cricket and is playing in The Hundred in England.
New Zealand’s Top Run-Scorer
Kane Williamson is New Zealand’s all-time leading run-scorer with 40 international centuries — the most by any Kiwi. He led the Black Caps to their first World Test Championship (WTC) title in 2021 and has opted out of a central contract to focus on global leagues.
Early Life and Debut
Born in Tauranga on 8 August 1990, Williamson has a twin brother. A prolific run-getter since his school days, he captained New Zealand in the Under-19 World Cup at the age of 17. He made his Test debut in 2010 against India, scoring 131, and became the youngest Kiwi to score an ODI century against Bangladesh.
